Manston Airport Independent Party

Ruth Bailey represented the Manston Airport Independent Party in the 2015 General Election in the Thanet South constituency.

The sole intention was to work with, not against, the other standing candidates. The prime aim was to use the platform of the General Election to raise the profile of Manston Airport beyond the local area into a national arena. The Manston Airport Independent Party was formed to be a neutral one-issue party, not aiming to beat other candidates or to win, but to increase publicity and promotion of the Manston campaign.

The campaign to save Manston Airport continues after the election, with more information and updates available at www.supportmanstonairport.org as well as in social media.

Manifesto

If elected as the Member of Parliament for the South Thanet constituency I would endeavour to raise the profile of Manston Airport on a national level. Specifically, I would take the lead on lobbying the Department for Transport and other public bodies such as the Civil Aviation Authority and the Airports Commission.
